    Good test, he knows his stuff and his setup to prove excitation current was a good one. I used to have a couple of 25 amp AVR’s that suited that machine but chucked them years ago. Most modern AVR’s only drive to 10 odd amps although you could increase that with a bit of gaffing around, but the smaller unit he has will work fine.

    Good to see an older brushed alternator doing its thing that well still, brushless units while more maintenance free are actually quite a bit more complex and teaching someone how an alternator works is much easier to understand on a unit like this.

    That engine is still doing well for its age too, although it’s probably come from a standby application and done not much it’s entire life. Nice unit. 👍
