I was in cadets from 72-75 with Keira High down in Wollongong made sergeant, also got a trophy for rifle shooting (SLR's and Bren Guns) and I think I might still be able to strip both weapons if I had to. also did a survival course at singleton.
best 4 years ever, a great stepping stone to life.

Recon you still can strip em, We had an old bloke come through here last year who first enlisted in 81, So I got the SLR from the lock up and handed it to him, didn't have a problem. Pitty the brens are welded.

I started at Sacred Heart College in Adelaide in 1969, then moved to Marist College at Forbes NSW the following year. Also did survival course at Singleton.

It's a small world. The OC at Sacred Heart back then was a Major Laszlo Gimesh (Hungarian). He died not long after I left that school. Recently had a loader driver working for me with same surname - turned out to be his son.
    Cheers .........

G'day All, I was driving around the Pokolbin S.F. this morning when we came upon a heap of cadets all set up in the HQ area, complete with porta-loo's, anyway they are gonna get their collective bums wet as we just had a short sharp shower dumped about 4mm rain and there's more on the way, anyway they might enjoy it cheers Dennis
