    Petrol Heads Unite!!

Whats better than a post with pics?
when the pics are of OUR race cars naturally!

    So dig'em out, scan 'em
    and dump'em on here,,
let the rest of us see where the your money went---

if its registered, its not a race car,, leave em in the garage huh. (rally cars excepted)

    just to start things off

    listen to those 45's roar!

the trick was to straddle the tyre mid flick

Class 5 QLD Short Course Champion 1993--

    Go the Dato!!!!

While I didn't race any big V8s Pedro, some were serious petrol head machines (a few did the illegal drags at Homebush, tho'.......not that I'm admittng to anything. LOL)......

    G'day Quiggers

Aaah! Brickies just down the road from Beefies Yup! that sure sorted the men from the boys, the last corner was the one brown pants time, particular for the drum braked boys was there the night the poor bugger put himself and a Kawka 900 through the chain wire, NOT PRETTY and all those nights when the plods would close off Homebush Rd and then sneek down to within 200 yards before lighting up with Twos & Blues

They made a movie about it "Midnight Spares"

    cheers

Good on ya UncleHo! Brickies was a lot of fun and I was there when the movie was being filmed - the coppers turned up and tried to bust everyone - including the film makers!!!!!!

The dear old ZC Fairlane 351 auto was a bit slow off the line but when it got underway, well....... see ya!!!!

Somewhere in the crowd I'm in that film....... the bloke with the flanny shirt, long hair and.....enough!

    My dear old Holden Overlander.

When I bought the Overlander (1982) it was original except it had poxy little off road tyres on it. I was not satisfied so I created what you see here.
It was one of the first 'lifted' 4x4s in Perth at the time. It had custom made extended shackles in the front and diff blocks at the rear to lift it. I put on 12.00 x 15 Bridgestone tyres (the largest you could get), solid alloy Dragway rims, ex Corvette sidepipes, a Chev V8 and a B&M supercharger on top (that is why the bonnet has the scoop). It would climb the highest sand dune and spray mud a hundred metres. Don't you just love raw V8 power.

    Shorty.

    Well done Shorty.

Have you been to Mildura? John & Lesley Gates are relatives and they have done a few too many laps of that place in their day.

    Cheers.
