    The Defenders are going

We are about to lose the last three Defender Light Tankers. Three years ago we had five.
FESA in their wisdom are giving us Toyotas.
Can't say I'm happy about it.

Wonder if they will supply us with kidney belts?

    A shame.

Perhaps they will go to owners who wave back?

    Hi there

The SA Country Fire Service only have a few left - but there also being replaced with Toyota.

They havent been all that well excepted within the fire service?

A bit of history - in the CFS thay are called QAV (Quick Attack Vehicles) - small petrol powered pums and approx 500lt water.

    The main reasons:

would be the costs and they are under-powered.

If you have a capable driver in a landrover it will out perform most vehciles offroad - but you have to drive them like you stole it (high revs etc...).

The main reasons - theres not alot of Land Rover dealers/mechanics left in SA (especially in the country areas). This is where Toyota etc... have and are performing well with good after market service and quallity.

Land Rover Australia - it now the time to pluck a rabbit, you know the rest - to improve sales and quality.

    Well all the best

yea but the new v8 cruiser utes are very expensive to lease and it is is cheaper to buy a small 4wd truck like a canter or isuzu and carry a bit more water at least that is what the government department i work for is looking at the moment
Plus im 6"5 and i dont fit in a new defender but i do in a 79 series cruiser but i fit in my S2a wagon quiete fine
