    Mahindra 4x4 dual cab 2.5CRDe

I drove past one of our local used car yards today and saw they were selling these.

They are a typical leaf rear and torsion front but the front is like a live axel housing with the ends cut off and really short drive shafts which is a little different than the norm.

They seem roomy inside but pretty basic although they have tried to pretty the interior up a bit with some carbon fibre look alike cover in the centre dash.

It had a CD player, safety triangle and first aid kit as standard with a centre fold rear seat so you dont need to put the whole seat down to access something out from behind the seat.

The cab is a bit longer than normal so the rear seat is on a good angle and has a bit of leg room as well.

Tray is a reasonable size but pails to insignificance to a 130

I dont know if anyone is interested but I was for the reason they make a bomb proof tractor so would be good if it transfered into their cars, not for me though, I love my Disco.

I recon it's the other way around, a Ssangyyong makes an AU look good or even a Crysler Neon.

I dont think they are that bad looking, kinda like a LR though as they look like they are built to work rather than to look good above all other things.

Great approach angle but I recon it wont have bugger all front articulation.

Im going to have a bit better look at it at some stage as where in the market for a new ute for work in April.

I reckon those Ssangyyoonnggss make everything look classy... even a Trabant. Obviously their designer works with crayons.

Speaking of tractors, Mahindra have been marketing significantly to the rural market.

IIRC the old KB Izuzu had this setup, maybe early Rodeo too?

The approach angle would want to be good - you'd have to hit everything square-on with that layout, IFS at the front and ute springs out back.

I'm sure 4wd monthly did a reveiw of these just recenetly unfortunately i can't find it. I think it ended in saying that they should be popular with farmers owing to their headroom.(no need to take the akubra off) They do have good low range gearing though and the engine is only 79kw so fully loaded they'd be a bit of a slug. Build quality looks pretty reasonable though then again anything looks reasonable compared to some landrovers.

Look I know you were only joking but this is why I hate it when people chop up my posts and quote them, yes I wrote that but it wasnt meant like that as you would understand after you read what followed it.

What was meant was that it looks like it is built to work e.g. like a LandRover and not just to look pretty e.g. Like a Toyota lol

Also we once had an Isuzu KB40 ute on the farm, the oldman bought it new after he sold his 2a to his mate that I bought it back off about 8 years later and it was really crap off road and we used to chop out CV's something cronic which were extremely pricey to replace.
