    Can people advise any good online sellers of games?
    Also if there are any I should avoid, please let me know.

    I don't - that;s half the point.

    Also last time I installed STEAM it acted like a bloody virus slowing things down etc.

    ALso I like an "actual" game in case the machine goes tits up I can easily reinstall it.

    has NO effect on my machine,
    has its OWN backup function,

    and is usually much cheaper than stores,,
