How have you been ...
Evening all. Good to see you thinking about a camping trip Banjo. I would think about somewhere with phone coverage - that way if fatty gets concerned about bad guys you can call someone. I think, as others have said, it is not worth worrying about. Yes it has happened but for every one bad story that we hear on A Current Affair, there is 100,000 good camping trips that you never hear about - except here on Aulro.
Anyway, watching my second favourite WWII movie tonight - A Bridge Too Far. I just read they didn't have enough Sherman tanks , so they put plastic fake tanks over 88" Land Rovers.
Jason, a camping trip would be a great thing to try to aim for, it doesn't have to be anywhere far away or exotic!
The great thing about the Newcastle and Hunter Valley area is that there are so many great places. I loved going away for short camping trips here there and everywhere up the valley, which unfortunately I can't really do anymore seeing as I'm in Perth!!
I actually got up this morning and thought it'd be a beaut day to go up to the bay for the day, then realised I was 4000km away from Nelson Bay, it's still sinking in that I'm not in Maitland anymore!!
Anyway, just keep taking the little steps and after a while you'll realise you've made a huge leap forward. And if you do manage to convince fatty a night or two in the tent would be a bit of fun, I'll be jealous as!!
Seano
Hey, Shaun, you are going to have to change were you are located from Maitland to Perth mate!! It still says Maitland!!!:D:D
Gee, Drifter that was a nasty cut on your hand, I would imagine model aeroplane propellers spinning would be like razor blades cutting into your hand. How's the wound now?:)
Thanks mate. It gets a bit arthritic in winter, sadly. The props on electric planes are thinner (and sharper) than those on fuel-powered planes - and they cut with surgical speed and precision. At what I thought was the first strike I pulled my hand clear but it had still hit me 13 times. Only 5 of the strikes were serious and one nearly severed a tendon - so they cut away all the lacerated skin and just stitched it into one wound - that stretched the remaining skin a bit but it didn't take long to settle down and re-form itself over the wound.
How's that Freelander going?
Freelander is going well mate, love the exhaust note on the Rover V6 :burnrubber:( even though they don't have a good name for reliability) wife loves it too, she was out putting leather shine into the seats as soon as I brought it home the other day.I know what you mean by nasty wounds, I was electricuted through the left hand several years ago, nearly lost two fingers and the tendons were there for all to see. They stitched it up and I had to have skin grafts. There is a big square mark inside my thigh where they took the skin for the graft from. The scar on my hand looks like bite mark and when people ask me what happened, I say my wife bit me!!!:Rolling::Rolling::Rolling:
Well its been busy round here today got some done to the sliders till lunch time then been doing the pamphlets since got about 100 to go.
