Well yesterday was the first day Karen stayed awake all day. Today had a small snooze. Pains came again last night & was again after midnight when we went to bed. She says she is going back to work tomorrow cause we're broke. Yes we are but the bills are paid & there's food on the table. I don't want her to go back to work yet I'd rather her be 100% before. But what am I going to do. Sometimes it's just best to let her do what she wants. We have desided we are going to sell the disco & camper together. Also the hiking gear the new swag & the new fishing gear. Harry is also being sold as an unfinished project along with a lot of my tools. I will be keeping my big toolbox but that's about it. It's time to cut our loses. I can't get anything don't to Harry with no garage. We had a look around here at houses to rent & the next cheapest is $380 pw which is an extra $60 a week from this place in rent but we also pay water usage every week to cover that so the $380 is way way to much for us. Where just going to go back to a small normal car cheaper to run & insure. Cheaper maintenance as well. We have both had enough of getting nowhere & with the accident it's going to take us a year or more to recover. Plus we have Karens health & specialist bills now & that's more important to me. So we will be with Jim soon & landrover less.

Well Karen got no pains last night so went to bed early but neither could sleep for god knows how long. Up early today & Karen is going to work.

Jason, thanks for the update. I'm still recovering from a major business setback that happened in 1999, we should (at my age) have our house paid off now, but we don't. I can't retire until we are completely debt free. That's why I haven't invested in another LandRover even though I would like to, but who knows what the future may bring.

You can still be a LandRover enthusiast and be LandRoverless, Jase!!!!:D Not as much fun, I know but what the heck.

Well Karen went to work today 8 till 12 just the one job. Came home & was tired & had a snooze on the lounge. By 4 this afternoon she was back on the bed doubled over with the pains back. She is still there. Hope they don't last to long.

Well now Fred has just left for her first overnight shift..starts at 9.30 till 5.30am. I don't like her driving at this time of night & a bit worried how she will be in the morning coming home. I don't think they should have the young girls on overnight. Fred's not happy about it either.

Fred would be working when only the drive through is operating wouldn't she???? so she wouldn't be exposed to dropkicks. The only thing she has to be wary of is when she is knocking off and going out to her car, have her car keys ready in her hand and look around ( always be aware of her surroundings) and get in the car as quickly as possible and lock the doors.

Night shift is a bumma, did permanent nightshift for 6 years when I was truck driving back in the late 1970's. Always tired. Money was good though, amongst the best paying jobs I ever had, but in the end I got sick of it.

I tend to agree about females working late at night, but I guess I'm old fashion. I think females are more of a target for unwanted attention from morons. We have female bus drivers who do the night shift, but another way of looking at it is, equal pay for equal work.

Say hello to Karen, tell her to look after herself.

Yeah they close the doors at 10.30. Yeah she still gets the morons in drive threw.
We have the appointment at the specialist at 4.30 this afternoon.

Ok so we went to the specialist appointment at 4.30 where I was soon told to wait in the car. Ok so Karens liver numbers are good now from the blood test on Friday. He can't understand why Karen is in so much pain of a night. So another blood test tomorrow which she is ****ed at since she has had so many in the last few months. This one is to check her pancreace enzymes & for cancer. With the tablets Karen still has to take the pregnazone (steroids) at the 15 ml so 3 tablets a day. & the nexim tablets she has been taking to counteract the steroids is a strongest dose tablet of 40mls now she has to take 2 a day one in the mornings & one in the night. Karen has to ring the specialist on Monday morning & speak to him to let him know if there is any change in the pains. He is going to keep her on these steroids till they can get the pain sorted & settled. Then he will very slowly reduce them till she is off them & once off them he will look at some long term replacements for them.

Received some bad news last night. Our daughter Kim who lives in Bundaberg was attacked and badly mauled by a dog.She works as a home care nurse and doing her rounds when she called into a regular client. The dog is normally locked away but when Kim knocked on the door the dog came around and attacked her. The dog is a Bull Mastiff.

She received a badly mauled ankle with three bones broken and some bones sticking through the skin. She underwent surgery at Bundaberg hospital last night and the Doctors reckon she is very lucky she did not lose her foot. They had to put three pins and a plate in.

I will be flying up to see her in the next couple of days, so may be off line for a while. Probably fly out over the weekend or on Monday.

Jim that's terrible news. I hope Kim is ok & I hope they have had the dog put down. Our thoughts are with your family. Sing out if you need anything . Or if you want we can feed the dog for you while use are away..
