Actually the Good Book says that there will never be another world wide flood so just need to move to higher ground now days to avoid any local floods.
And yes Ausfree, in the days of Noah, Noah invited everybody onto the Ark and if any Athiests had got on to Noah's Ark they too would have been saved from the flood. Trouble is they did not believe that there would be a flood, so did not take the necessary steps to escape distruction.
"But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matthew 24:37.
One may have trouble finding a cubit graduated tape measure in Bunnings, John.![]()
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Thanks Ian. A cubit was from the finger tip to the elbow, a varable distance of about 18 inches as a minimum--however Noah probably had much longer arms than I do, as I am a bit short. Other cubits were about 22 inches long. I would not like to measure things in cubits today, other than if I was making reproductions of Bible things--I have a small model of the "Raider's of the lost Ark," "Ark of the Covenant," that I purchased very cheep when it was marked down. Other than that, not counting pictures, I do not have Bible Based models. Note that the Ark of the Covernant is not to be mixed up with Noah's ark, but some have gotten mixed up in this.
So the Bible measurement of Noah's Ark was somewhere between 450 feet as a minimum to 600 feet or so long [not counting width and height measurements that the good book does mention].
It is interesting that ships, 600 foot long, have been made to the Bible propotions and these ships were found to be extremely stable in very big seas, John.
