Hey Banjo, just had a thought. Maybe you've got some crud in your fuel tank. I once got some flakey paint (from old jerry can) into my tank. Would be fine and then it would block the pick up and engine would hickup or stall. Stop and the paint flake would float away and then it would run fine.
When we drained the tank got a half a handful of flakey paint and was fine after that.
I've heard of leaves doing a similar thing.
Anyway hope your mechanic finds problem.![]()
Well the mechanic rang yesterday arvo, News not good the carby is had it completely & is $465 to have it rebuilt plus still needs the tune up plus parts..Told him it aint a race car so doesnt need the 350 holley on ,, so they going to see what they can get for a replacement maybe an original verajet or something..There going to ring us back today to let us know what they find..So looks like late next week before we see the car back..
I think today is Karens last day at work to..I JUST WANT MY CAR BACK..
We rang around yesterday after the shop rang & get get a brandnew holley for $425..But it doesnt need such a big carby on it so will just have to wait see what they come up with..

Hey AUSFREE, see, http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread...92#post1574192
Have been busy on another thread that is taking much of my time, so am behind on this one.
Fred needs an old Land-rover to own and do up with Dad's help. She may get enthusiastic and learn how to fix her own car, which could be good for her later.
Hitchhiking a number of years ago, I got a lift with an 18 year old girl with a Baby.
She had grown up on a farm, but her dad had taught her brothers to weld and do mechanics, but not her. So while on the dole, she went to a garage and said, I will work for you for nothing if you teach me how to fix cars.
She can now strip and rebuild a motor, gearbox, etc.
FRED, read this, and find something useful to do that could save you a lot of money in the future, that is save you big repair bills, etc.
But remember I do not know where her baby came from, though I do know where babies in general come from.
