Jerry, they removed one tooth, cut her gum open and ground the bone level, placed in the two metal locating pins for her new dentures, then stitched everything back up. She has to go back for a follow up next Friday and have the stitches removed.
She then waits for a couple of months until her gums settle down, then she gets fitted with a new set of dentures.
She has just got out of bed and her face is puffed up, you wouldn't believe.![]()
The gums will heal very quickly, the stiches are a "pain" to have removed though
When I had my top jaw done they fitted a temporary denture, which also acted as a healing denture to protect the gums. Certainly not a pleasant experiencebut the end result is well worth all the pain.
tell her to keep eating the jelly and custard![]()
She mentioned something about a temporary denture after the stitches are removed.
Can't eat dairy products, so I guess that rules out custard!!!!![]()
I just said to her ( her with the swollen face) " I'll take a picture of you and put it on the internet"...................well, that went over like a lead balloon.![]()
Ausfree, just to distract you from your poor wife's suffering, I have just found out what happened to your previous avatar picture, and why you got rid of it before your wife found out:--

Hope this link works
Mrs Aus still has a swollen face this morning. Oh well, all she can do is take her anti-inflammatories.
