Great idea Murray, I'll go a couple. Can you pm the total cost with postage to me.
I was looking around for a decent drink holder for my County a while ago, but everything seemed to be plastic, looked cheap, and didn't look like they would take much off road abuse.
I've had these drink holders laser cut from solid stainless steel tube and added a rubber grip at the top.
As far as drink holders go, they should be virtually indestructible.
As you can see from the picture it fits most standard drink containers, coffee, cans, water bottles etc, etc.
Fixes with two screws. Supplied with two stainless steel tek-screws.
They've been selling for $27.50 on Ebay.
AULRO member price is $25 + post.
Cheers, Murray
I've found, in this position on the front of the centre console , they don't interfere with the gear stick.

They look great!
You may have already considered this but maybe modifying the design slightly so that the section cut away makes up part of the next holder?
Reduce material wastage and get more units from a length of pipe.
Still think they look very classy and reasonably priced.
Neil
Thanks Neil, good advise. Unfortunately I don't have anything to do with programming the laser cutter (I wish I had one of those in my workshop)
Going by the number of units I got from a length of tube, it doesn't seem that there was much waste, so I'd guess they have used the material fairly efficiently.

Your work as per normal is top knotch![]()
G'day Ben,
It's pretty cool what they can laser cut these days. The rotary setup is basically a rotating chuck to hold the material, instead of a flat table.
It will even cut RHS like the slotted sleeve in this pic that I have done for my wheel carriers.
The laser is approximately 0.2mm.
As for minimum cut radius, approx 3mm radius hole through 6mm flat steel plate, but probably smaller radius on an external edge.
For thin material, such as 1.6mm stainless steel sheet or tube, the cuts can be quite fine as the laser moves quicker with less time to burn the material. For example, you can't laser cut a 3mm dia hole through 6mm plate (not neatly anyway), but you can easily cut a 3mm dia hole through thin sheet, or even 3mm nylon such as the rivet holes in this part....
