Pics - D2 rear wheel carrier

We're still working on a method of opening the door and carrier together, the sticking point is the upward arc of movement the door takes when opening. Trialling heims at the moment, as soon as we get a positive result it will go live.

The bar is braced every which way on the underside, it's a long way from the chassis to the outer edge of the vehicle and with too much weight on the rear, the chassis can also flex. We're getting close to having a method of resolving all this.

Hi all, a great product. Following this closely as I would like one. I have a question though - Why remove the spare off the door to place it in the same spot but on a carrier?
Not trying to poo poo the work, it looks good, just asking.

A fair bit of the dust ingress through the rear door is due to the weight (of the spare) in the door. Remove that weight (45kg for a 32" tyre on an alloy rim) and a lot of the dust ingress will go.

A better mount to replace the somewhat frail mount of the standard carrier.

Those were my primary motivators.

I (with the help of a very clever mate) just made up a cranked arm with two nylon bushes and it works just fine.

When this becomes available I will want one. Will this be available with the LH jerry can mount? How hard are they to remove? I would like to be able to have the LH side removed when vehicle is used for daily driver and fit it when going bush.
