The question has been asked if fitting one of my Sealed Air Intake sytems affects warranty.

The short answer is no, as long as it does not adversly affect a genuine part which is caused to fail as a result. this how my dealer has explained it to me :-

    "
This is a common misunderstanding amongst the general public.

Fitment of an aftermarket accessory to a vehicle does not void the entire warranty.

Warranty is only affected if the failure of a genuine component that would normally be warranted is caused by the failure / fitment of the aftermarket component.

For example – if the sealant used in the air box was not sensor safe and caused failure of the intake system sensors then they would not be warranted.

That doesn’t mean that if a water pump started leaking it wouldn’t be covered under warranty being that it’s a totally unrelated system.

Hope this makes things clearer for you."

I fitted my own unit sealing it with a commercial silicon sealer and had no trouble at all. My investigations have also advised that it is extremely unlikely that there would be any problem but to reduce the probability to zero, I am going to include a tube of Sensor Safe sealant with all future kits. Unfortunately it increases the price of the kits a bit, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the info Wayne.
Its still on my wish list, as mine has a split in it , so I expect they'll fix that when its next into them, maybe I can get them to agree to use yours , but otherwise, it has to wait till the funds are available to do it myself.

trying to install this on A MY13 but the hose seems to be jamming up against the bottom of the brake booster and resting on the steering knuckle. Everytime we try and move it it scrapes plastic of the hoses. any ideas?

ended up sliding some rubber sheeting between the hosing and the brake booster so hopefully that'll holdup. Had a little momentary set back trying to put the mantec snorkel back on but that is now solved.. and now the snorkel is vibrating with power! it fairly grumbles even in idle, you can hear the air being sucked in and if you put your hand near the intake you will feel the vacuum.

    nice bit of kit nugget.

Would be great to see before & after dyno & fuel figures, although there seems no doubt there are significant improvements on the induction side.

Nugget what's your preferred RAI after all your work, or are they same same

Hi guys..sorry only just seen the posts.

Not sure why you had trouble rutmutt without seing a pic but sounds like you got it sorted.

I have fitted Safari snorkels previously and have always been happy. I know the one on my 110 took a hell of a bashing from tree branches etc and it held up very very well.

    Sealed air intake

I can confirm that Nuggets kit will fit where an original LR snorkel is used.
I fitted Nuggets kit to our 110 a few weeks ago and it fits fine.
Nugget, if you have a look at your old emails you will see some feedback I provided at the time, but it seems to me to be a good installation.

    Rgds,

    Rob

Yes it can be fitted with an Airtec. I supply a couple of longer stainless steel studs for the snorkel and it is a bit more fiddly but certainly can be done. Witchdoctor fitted one to his 90.
