Hello guys,
Will the barrels in the the below link go into the perentie door handles and just a hole need to be drilled into the door where the barrel goes into the mechanism or are the mechanisms different and i have to order the whole mechanism and bolt it in?
Also theres a link there for a PAS box will this work with the perentie if so what pump will work with the 4BD1 engine the site also stocks pumps but i believe there for the land rover original engines, are there any other parts that need to be changed e.g steering column etc etc?

Cheers guys :)
G’Day SeaDog and welcome to AULRO.
The site is laid out with type and model specific areas to make searching a more logical process.
While many general threads go ‘Off topic’ this isn’t that bad.
For specific issues though, it is easier for all in the long term, to post on the relevant thread or area.
This thread is about my Perentie Land Rover Buyers Guide. You or anyone else won’t look here for PAS info.
That said, there are a couple of different areas to look. ‘The Pinnacles’ have 3 sections to check.
The 90/110/ 130 Defender/ County, The Isuzu Landy section, but The Military Coil sprung area is the best.
Down the bottom of the page on the Left is a AULRO specific search function.
On the bottom right is the drop down menu for all the vehicle-specific areas.
PAS thread here: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/isuzu-land...questions.html
The ADF used both Early and Late Disco 1/ ’86-’94 RR steering boxes. The one you found or STC2846 will do. There may be minor differences in bracketry and fittings.
Pumps can be had from $50 second hand to $1000 new depending on how much shopping around you do.
MR Auto in Brisbane and KLR Auto in Sydney have kits available.
There is also threads on door and ignition locks.
I hope this helps.
That is the correct PAS Box - disco or RR boxes have a straight drop arm and changing it is a huge PITA.
You can probably get it cheaper or the same price locally - I got mine from here:

Dave - I find it very hard to believe the ADF were using Disco/RRC 4-bolt boxes when the 110/defender version with the correct drop arm was available at the same time.
Cheers mate
iszurover, those are the part numbers for the RFSV PAS boxes. They are pictured with the bent arm as the paddock parts are.
Manual box is part number NTC8224, which seems to be deleted.
NSN for it is 2530 66 128 6456
Hi Sea-Dog, if you want a bit of info on how to change the ignition lock (it puzzled me for quite a while before I worked it out) see here for some hints:
Removing 24V generator & adding a key to my Ex-Army 110
Can't help you with the door locks though, as it seemed pointless to me to lock something with a canvas top!
Cheers
David
For buyers of Perentie 6x6, I have spoken to my friend who owned McRitchie Engineering until he retired some years ago.
He told me some time ago that he produced extras for all the unique body panels for the 6x6 including windscreen frames, door openings etc.
He confirmed this week with the current owner that all ( not sure) of the unique pressings are still stocked at McRitchie.
So if you have a rollover all is not lost.

G'Day All.
What an interesting few months!
I have a confession:
The Buyers Guide as it stands is only 80% of what I was hoping to achieve. Due to time constraints and bossy customers ;), I released it before I was fully satisfied.
Since its release I have been meaning to finish it to the degreeI had planned, but the business has taken a few interesting turns earlier than expected.
So What! You say.
I am in the final stages of finishing the Guide I wanted to write. It is effectively the same, but with an extra 15-20 pages of detailed photos and Interviews that give you a more complete story on maintanence and parts availabilty etc. also a bit more on the modifications as more parts/ kits have become available.
I am asking for a couple of things:
A. I am looking for models to star in the finished Guide. All Variants, all locations. Full credit given to photos you have taken. I would love to catch up with new owners in the SEQ area and get your buyers' story and experiences.
B. For those who have bought either the Full Guide or the Visual Inspection Guides, I am after a bit of feedback.
If you could Cut and Paste the following and post here or PM if you prefer.
1. Did you use the information to help in buying a Perentie Land Rover.
2. Did you find the information Sufficient to buy more confidently?
3. Did you find any factual errors?
4. Did you find the flow and style of the Guide too long or Short?
5. Any sections you thought were not needed?
6. Any sections you would like to see more of or included?
7. Was the Mod/ EMEI decoder useful?
8. Why?
9. The big one: Was it worth it? Are you satisfied that you saved money or bought with greater confidence because of the Guides?
Thanks again from my Family for supporting an Aussie Micro business :D
