How hard is it going to be to fit air con and power steer to these ex armies ? will there be enough power boxes around to fit ?
hey guys i just got a 92 6x6 from Townsville and im loving it. its in very good condition drives better than my 99 model 130 dual cab, that i will have to get rid of now.
the back of those 6x6 is built so strong i had no idea just how strong they made them. and its going to make a great camper for me and my son.
G'Day The Mike.
Welcome to AULRO. Glad you are happy with your purchase. A Camper is the conversion many people have in mind. You'll go more places than a hino conversion will.
Cheers, BDave.
Is it correct that the average fuel consumption of the 6X6 vehicles is around 4km per liter?
yep, you can use the rangie, county, deefender and the disco box if your willing to make some mods, the proper suzi powersteering pump is the hard bit to get
Strong enough that with some dunnage under the wheels to protect the ally tray that you can put a fully overloaded FFR on the top and then drive cross country with it.
Depends on your boot and the load 4k/l is the military planning economy for it (or there abouts) you can get them up to 8-9k/l
No fear there mate, I have a long term plan of acquisition...
...and the version I am after is one of the more common and (hopefully) less desirable versions ;)
I would like to know if the incomplete/unserviceable ones will be registerable with the fairly recent changes to written off/rebirthing laws. I have enough One Ten already, just want a firewall and chassis and a few other special bits really. Could fit a decent fuel tank where the spare hangs on a 4x4!
Mark, RE: incomplete/ US vehicles. I had that conversation with grays staff.
They stated that the vehicles were NOT on the WOVR but the Intention was that they would not be returned to the road. They refused to be drawn on the terminology.
Make of that what you will.
If they don't say you can't.......
Cheers, BDave.
my 110 Perentie is heaps roomier than my old defender 130 , which is nice!
