Roverlord will be closed over Easter and no more pick ups on Weekends or after hours

We have been forced to make this decision due to some abuse of priviliges we gave some people in the past. We have allowed some people to pick up parts when others are closed , but our private telephone numbers have been given out to others.
Sunday I had 6 customers wanting to pick up parts. I was planning of taking a few hours off to go fishing, and was told by one that his parts were more important than me having some time to myself. People racking up unannounced , or ring and expecting me to be there at there beck and call on Sundays is not on. The bricks and mortar stores don't do after hours special services. I work damn hard at this and am working some times into the early hours of the morning. One customer recently wanted a wheel nut on a Sunday, and was peed off that I wouldn't allow a pick up! I too have a life out side Land Rover parts. There are some knockers ,but tough cheddar that's the way it is.

Look after yourself first Mario, and don't forget to change your phone number... No use working yourself into an early grave...

I know how hard it was to escape pesky customers back when I was really busy, I just had to tell people I was fully booked and that was that.

It's the fact they demand you to give up your time, they might buy their parts elsewhere don't get everything or are supplied wrong parts or their supplier is out of stock or brand , but because their suppliers are shut and they are in the middle of a project on a week end they expect me to bend over backwards.
My kids had music teacher who once said to my boys when they were studying music, they wanted to learn another instrument as well as the one they were playing. He said be an expert in one instrument instead of being mediocre in many. I took those words on board. We are an on line business that's what we do , and well do it very well, our competitors try to dabble in all avenues.
It's 1am now and I'm still answering email enquiries, time to get to bed and get up in them morning and start again. So when I get some time to myself I don't need some one telling me I have to be there on weekends also. You try and help people but often they just take advantage of you.

Look at the bright side Mario.

Staying home on Sunday to look after your loyal customers can save you an absolute fortune and lack of stress and sleep when you consider the 'cost' of traveling all the way to Eildon in the wee hours. Not to mention (though I will ) the slaughter of indigenous wildlife on the black spur (what did Skippy ever do to you ? ). And all for what ?, a couple of underside Redfin .

Good on, Mario! Your service has always been second to none - without doubt the best online store I have ever dealt with. As a mentor told me once, there are some customers that you don't need. What I used to do was let the answering machine take the calls after hours (that's what we had before Messagebank, for the youngsters). Check the messages and then decide if they're worth your time to respond or not.
