    New Full Power Cable kit

Hi folks, here is some info about the new Discovery 3 specific SC80-LR Plug-&-Play + LR-FPC ( Full Power Cable ) kit.

A generic version of the FPC kit for other types of vehicles will be available soon.

This new kit is not on my web site yet and at $399 is a more cost effective alternative to buying and installing both the LR-HCE and TPSE kits.

The kit has everything in it to be able to run battery charging cable to the rear of a D3, to charge an auxiliary battery in a caravan, camper trailer or float and comes with an additional 50 amp Anderson plug to make the connection between the D3 and tow vehicle.

The kit also has everything needed to install two 16 amp cigarette light type power sockets in the rear cargo area.

All the cabling in the engine bay has already been pre assembled to make the engine bay section of the installation very quick, simple and easy.

The installation instructions are supplied on a CD that describes everything needed to set up the engine bay and how to run the cable through the D3, including info on how to remove what panels and has a large number of pictures to make the installation as painless as possible.

The kit has addition components supplied with it to allow the second Anderson plug, if not required to be used on a tow vehicle, can be installed under the bonnet to supply a high current connection for an air compressor or what ever.

The diagram below will give you an idea of what the FPC kit can do and the kit has everything needed to carryout a safe and complete professional style installation. All you need are some basic tools and some electrical tape.

Would this kit be suitable for a RRS?

Because of the fundemental similarities of the vehicles my guess is yes.

Hi Diego, there is most likely enough cable to do the job but as I have not done any work on an RRS beyond the engine bay, I can’t say for sure if there is much difference from a D3.

The instructions a very D3 specific and all info and pictures were done using a D3 as the set up vehicle but at the first chance I will have a chat with my local dealer as I know they have done a few RRS set ups.

Cheers and sorry I can’t be of more help at this time.
