    240 VAC battery chargers

    Hi folks, I now carry a range of three 240 VAC battery chargers ranging from a 3.8 amp and 7 amp battery charger to a 16 amp rapid battery charger.

    The 3.8 amp 5 Stage Battery Charger for charging and maintaining wet cell, gel cell and AGM batteries from 1.2 A/H up to 120 A/H and has a Recommended price of $84.95 and I will be listing it on my web site for $82.00 but the AULRO price is $78.00

    The 7 amp 5 Stage Battery Charger has a Recommended price of $149.00 and I will be listing it on my web site for $144.00 but the AULRO price is $138.00

    The 16 amp 4 Stage Rapid Battery Charger has a Recommended price of $199.00 and I will be listing it on my web site for $189.00 but the AULRO price is $180.00

    I will eventually have more details about each charger on my web site but I’m posting them here first.

    Hi Andy, I am that flat out at the time, I don’t know when I’ll be able to post full details.

    I have actually had them for nearly a month and only just posted them up here and I won’t be posting me on my TRAXIDE web site till I have some time to do so.

    Details of all three chargers can be found in the Jaycar catalogue and the following part numbers will take to the exact web page on Jaycay's web site at :-

    Jaycar Electronics - Better. More Technical.

    The part numbers are as follows.

    MB3604 = 3.8 amp battery charger

    MB3606 = 7 amp battery charger

    MB3620 = 16 amp battery charger

    PLEASE NOTE, at this time, while the 3.8 and the 16 amp chargers have Approval numbers, the 7 amp charge does not yet, but I have decided to carry the 7 amp charger as well because this unit can also be used as a 5 amp / 13.6v power supply, making it doubly useful.

    There is a smaller battery charger that is more suited to trickle charging but it’s also cheaper, so if there is interest in this sort of smaller type charger, I can look into getting them in as well.

    Any comments?

    It doesn't take me to the section you say, but hey I trust you going on past tech and equipment you have supplied, Dion is a knob, though I think you know that

    Hi Tim,
    Looking forward to the details.

    Perhaps there is even an approval No. for the 7A unit (says he hopefully).

    Best Wishes,
    Peter

    I have the MB3620 16A unit I bought from Jaycar a year or so ago.

    I'm not sure if it is the correct unit for lead-calcium batteries. I understand there is an equivalent and almost identical appearing unit which is, it is claimed, designed for lead-calcium batteries. Jaycar don't stock it.

    I'm planning to pull mine apart to add a fan. It sometimes get quite hot during charging. The indicator lamps appear to be incandescents and are hard to see in daylight. I've though of replacing them with LEDs.

    I also purchased the MB3620 from Jaycar. I tried to charge my two 130AH deep cycle batteries, but charger never reached cutoff (Green light). Charging voltage after 10hrs was 14.8V & cells gassing. I then separated batteries & tried charging separately but still wouldn't cutoff. Charger did cutoff though when charging battery in Disco TD5.
    A mate of mine has same charger & he told me that his doesn't cutoff with his AGM batteries either.
    I opened case & noted that only adjustment was a small variable resistor on daughterboard (off main PCB. I tried adjusting it but still couldn't get cutoff. I then placed a piece of insulation under pot wiper & unit now cuts off when battery fully charged.
    BTW. There is a temperature controlled fan inside case, and the indicator lights are LEDS. You could replace these with high intensity type.

    Has anyone else had issues with this MB3620 not cutting off?

    Cheers..B

    Hi folks, just a quick note, I no longer carry the smallest charger. The 7 amp and 16 amp chargers are proving to be far more popular.

    Cheers, Tim.
