He may have moved from player to coach. I saw him at work the other day. You would have thought that his brother would have shouted him a trip to the World Cup. I know he is player/coach of the Army Aviation side when they compete in the Inter Brigade Comp. We never had this when I was playing. The highlight of my Rugby career was playing in a combined Army/Navy side against the British Army side in Cairns when I was in recruiting up there. If NZ play like they did in the last World Cup final we could win easily.

We flew Bill around for the day. We picked up Bill and Daniel Herbert, Dan Crowley and Mark Connors in the South at Suai and the first place we landed was at the Kiwi battalion. When we shut down this young Kiwi digger recognises the players and says "You bloke are here to take the **** hey" Dam right. I put it in plastic trunk wrapped up in my mates dirty sleeping bag.

I was in Ireland in 1999. I had to watch it all in pubs. My Irish mate was cheering louder for the Wallabies than I was. He told me, once back in OZ, that he told every one that I was his body guard. Some mate.
    Cheers, Billy.

Something for the Wallabies to think about. Probably the most sober assessment so far. Wish well meaning supporters would stop talking the Wallabies up. I remember when McKenzie did that, before a test.

Some memorable Trans Tasman moments. I remember the 1999 W.C. netball final, holy cow, what a game!
