How will Cyclone Debbie stack up against Australia's worst cyclones?

Hopefully all those in the North have taken all precautions, and remain safe. That's the best we can hope for, you can always rebuild, good luck, everyone.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

The yardstick is always going to be TRACY. If anyone wants to know what damage a CAT 4 cyclone can do, check out the youtube video in this report. In it you'll see, among other things, an RSJ power pole bent to 45 degrees , this I believe was in the suburb of Wulagi. It may still be there.

The two largest ships ever in the RAN, whose secondary duty is assisting Australians after a natural disaster, are alongside G.I. , both with engine trouble. What can the Navy do, you might say. After Tracy, HMAS Brisbane recalled as many of their crew off XMAS leave, and crash sailed. She was the first ship there, using her communications suite to restore comms. to the outside World. The survey ship from Cairns arrived and surveyed the channels into Darwin, to ensure safe navigation. The fleet arrived with manpower for the cleanup. And our brand new ships are stuck alongside. Apparently Choules is picking up the slack.
