    The State of Origin, 2017

The politicians are involved, this must be serious! A story told to me on the Verandah of a local Mt Isa club , which I have not verified, about our Bob, the rugby league player. He played for a team in Cloncurry, the story goes, and earned the nick name " step outside Katter". When I asked if that was a reference to his pugilistic skills, the informant smiled and told me Bob played on the wing, and, when he looked likely to be tackled, he stepped over the sideline. Hence, "step outside Katter". I haven't had the opportunity to question Bob Katter on this, but it is a good story. Going up that way soon, hopefully, I will get to talk rugby league to the big man.

Bob Katter to officially complain to QRL for not choosing Billy Slater

I'm with you Ian. The only weakness I can see in the Qld side is Boyd at centre. Out of position, no pace after 10 yards, defence suspect. The big boys will run at him all night, requiring a big forward to cover for him, leaving a gap close to the ruck. Worse case scenario. May the best team on the night win. ......Just joking, GO QLD!!
