The Huetgen Forest, largest American defeat in Europe during WW2 1944/45
More men killed in one battle, [the largest battle on German soil by the US Army in WW2], than during the entire Vietnam War. In a battle that was un-necessary,the forest could have been bypassed , the German soldiers knew the War was over, and had little heart for it.
