UK government was offered Bushmaster vehicles fresh off the production line to replace/supplement the Land Rovers however offer was declined as they had not been tested by British army to confirm were up to British army requirements. A few were purchased a couple of years later however saw limited service as were mostly used as a benchmark for the vehicle they were designing

The Bushmaster was a success story. Used in Afghanistan by the Dutch, who never lost a soldier whilst using them. Used by Australia there as well.

Feedback from the Brits. was used to make the Bushmaster even better, culminating in the MR6. A truly 21st century armoured vehicle.

Another outstanding Thales product is the Hawkei. It can be fitted with a remote weapon system, and the new close range anti air missile , and radar, to be purchased by Australia.

More on the Hawkei. Thales are so heavily invested in the product, that when the company that manufactures the engine, Steyr, went bankrupt, Thales bought it. Each Hawkei can export enough power to run a small workshop.

I quickly scanned through the doc......I’m not convinced B2 was destroyed. We never laid eyes on B3 and pretty it was the one blown up.

B1 and B2 (and T1 and T2) were used for all the on road and troop trials. Although I only spent 6 ish weeks around the trail.

I did two weeks following one of the B’s and one of the AT’s during the Darwin, Ayres Rock, Simpson Desert part in a 6B. The T never left darwin due to a failure and the bushmaster was flat-bedded from Birdsville to Brisbane as we had ran out of front prop shafts.

Thanks for that. Very interesting article. I remember talking to a young Afghan veteran , him telling me that the Brit soldiers at first used to good naturedly gig the Aussies for driving around in armoured vehicles when they drove land rovers. That soon changed after the first IED's.
