    One bloke who was pretty good at bush poetry, among other things, was 'Bunger' Johnson.
    I had the pleasure of listening to quite a few recitations from him.

    I was turned off a couple of modern bush poets, because they lived in the big smoke, and rarely travelled west. They just went from festival to festival. Nothing wrong with that, I suppose, but go to most outback towns, you'll find some one who can quote Banjo or Henry, I haven't found many who write their own. Mores the pity, I believe you are not genuine if you don't live it. I'm sure there are many who live it and write it, I just haven't been out there for a while, to find them. Like the drover, a dying breed.
