How to remove the inner spindle??

I need some help in finding out how to remove the inner spindle on my old Mill Drill, it's a ToolMac, I bought it new back in 1987, it has served me well over the years making small things for my live steam loco etc.
About 2 years ago I was using it with an end mill, I must have forgot to tighten the head up, with the end result the end mill dug in and spun the head, stalled the motor. I switched it off very smartly, the job was ruined well what could I say, it was my fault.
    Here is the unit

I have removed the 2 drive belts, and undone the large nut at the top of the spindle

I noticed that there is no keyway in the pulley, nor any lockscrews, ?? so would the pulley be sitting on a taper, and more to the point do I have to remove the pulley, to get the inner spindle out!!??.
The lower end of the spindle with the morse taper, runs out at around 6-8thou, prior to this it ran with no runout,

I put that drill chuck in yesterday just to see if it was indeed the inner spindle and not my collet chuck that I was using at the time.
I have tried googling 'ToolMac' spares but I can't find anything. any help pointers appreciated, thanks Dennis

Dennis, at a geuss, I would try removing the shaft with the capstan handwheel, (horizontal shaft) this should then let the quill come downwards out of the headstock. (after you undo the depth limit attachment) The quill should be a rack and pinion type with the spindle housed inside it. It should be driven by a spline through that pulley you were trying to remove.
I hope this all makes sense, good luck.

    Cheers, Mick.
