    Fan Spanner TD5

I have seen a few posts where people are looking for fan spanners, someone suggested using a shifter but the person looking for the fan spanner pointed out that it would be too thick.
    NO it isn't!
The trick is to remove one of the three 10mm headed bolts that hold the belt pulley to the bearing shaft, having done that there is plenty of room for a shifter.
Loosen the fan nut before removing or loosening the belt, one hit with a mallet and the job is done.
Just remember the nut is a normal RH thread.

No it isn't... not on mine, at least. Tighter than a fish's bum at 50 fathoms. Even made up a holder out of steel, attached via the 2 remaining bolts, and couldn't get the blessed thing undone.

It was for the manual's preparation of removing the gearbox (ie. tilting the engine), but as I couldn't get the thing off, she was tilted anyway (slowly!), and the fan didn't come close to the radiator...
