I have the $200 kincrome one, has 5 good size wheels, steel frame. Feels good to lie on and seems pretty tough.

I think the correct answer for the boss is:

    "Bendpak 2 post hoist"

    IME don't even bother.

I have one. Every time I try and undo something, the nut doesn't move and I get rolled around under the car!

    very annoying!

I don't even bother anymore. I think I have successfully removed zero parts when trying to use it.

not sure a two poster will lift a CAT850G front end loader.......our contractor that does the greasing on the equipment is probably in his late 50's and to see him crawling around under the loader with his grease gun looked a pain in the arse........this prompted me to do a safety contact and the outcome was he would like to try a creeper. for <$200 its really nothing if it does improve access

lol.......gotta agree i tend to roll off them fighting with a bolt plus you really need a defer up on jack stands to give enough room to swing spanners

I use one a fair bit of the time when I'm doing anything substantial underneath. It got a lot of use with the gearbox rebuild getting the box in and out.

Our Defender has a 4" lift, though, and 35" tyres, so there's plenty of room underneath to get the leverage you need without stands.

I've also had to do all of this stuff on an exposed aggregate driveway, so the creeper tends to not roll around quite as much. Side-effect is that it's harder to roll in and out.

I would have been far more exhausted without the creeper, just with the effort required to scoot in and out, and the exposed aggregate isn't as comfortable to lie down on as smooth concrete.

If money is no object, check out the Dale Adams creepers from the USA. Big wheels & pretty much unbreakable:

My biggest issue is that my hair gets caught in the wheels . Some would say "Get a hair cut (you punk)"; I say I should spend less time under my Land Rover .

    James.

P.S. I have Kinchrome as well, but it's probably the cheapo one - was <$100 about 10 years ago. Hasn't missed a beat (and it's had a fair bit of use).

This is the main reason I now have short hair....

At work, I I really need to grab a creeper, its a snap-on one...but 9 times outta 10 I use a big piece of cardboard. Seems truck fuel tanks are somewhat closer to the ground than they were 10 years ago ....or that's my excuse
