Thread: Grease gun recommendations

Buy a quality grease gun if you can afford it, a one handed gun is much easier to use and it is much easier with a flexible hose and a decent grease coupling, most good grease here is in 450 gm cartridges not 400 gram cartridges so watch out when buying grease.
I use blue multipurpose grease, it is available from many quality suppliers, the blue grease does most things even wheel bearings but you can also buy special upmarket grease if you like, Moreys etc

Buy cheep, buy twice.. As you said, Id but a Tecalmet first, or a Macnaught second. Extreme pressure all round grease wud be fine.

One handed one is the go,and good quality that takes a cartridge,with flexible hose.
The Puma nipples on the prop shafts are difficult to get on,but keep persevering,and you will get there.

There was a post on the Puma prop shafts,some have nipples on the UJ's,and a plug on the slides that you have to remove to fit a nipple to grease,some have none at all.

best thing you can buy, apart from a Macnaught trigger type grease gun is the grease needle that goes with it, provided you can see well enough to get to a hard to reach grease nipple, you're laughing!

I seem to only use it for proshafts and the lawn mowers cutting deck. I just use the same grease, which is the stuff for the propshafts. I don't think anything else stresses the grease as much as these.

Happy with my Mcnaught. Use it for Propshafts, A frame ball joint, TREs.

I have owned a McNaught Minilube for many years. Totally satisfactory.
