Chassis Allignment Racks vs Slide Hammer

    My new resto project:

    https://www.google.com.au/search?q=r...w=1024&bih=644

was hit passenger side front 1984 & has been off the road since. Bonnet is a write-off but another one came with the car.

By putting a rudimentary straight edge accross the front, I estimate the passenger side bonnet mounts are about 50mm behind the other side.

I should add the bonnet tilts forward a la Jaguar XJ6.

Does that make it a candidate for a stretch rack or will a big slide hammer do the job?

The panel affected is only attached to the the boot floor (rear engined!) with no cross bracing

Slide hammer is really only suitable for panels, chassis rack if the subframe rails are bent.

    Yeah! Good point.

I bring it home tomorrow. I will have time to go over it properly then. Looking at what happens on youtube,

I don't have much to worry about.
