New, and chinese made, but has worked well. I use it for my work.

Yep exactly. I don't have arthritis but it is very hard on my wrists doing that last squeeze to snap the stem. Now you say you haven't used the concertina for a long time, but you have used one yes?

If so what are the pros and cons, apart from the extra space needed for the concertina. Am I correct that the concertina is one handed? It does look very easy, but I have never used one.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

I have to say, that the long handled type is better for me, because I can adjust the last grip of the tool on the shaft of the rivet so that the shock load is minimised. I have to use two hands, but that allows me to achieve that end. The other type might be used on handed, but needs more space above the rivet. the long handled ones require a bit of space to spread the handles.

I've got one like this - nice long handles so very little effort required to use it.

It has a swivel head like the one shown below, so you can use it on almost any angle, which overcomes most of the issues around getting into tight spots. (not always though ......... ).
