I have mine bolted to a 4 inch thick concrete, although the manufacturer(Molnar) recommends 5 inches.

As for height. My shed has 10 foot high walls with a portal frame roof.

I can get sedans to full height, just, with the roof going into the roof pitch.

Wagons no and my Disco's I can get to a height where I sit on a milk crate underneath.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

IIRC, they lift about 1800. Measure from your 130 roof (and back of tray) to whatever will foul above it. You will need the 1800 of lift plus 125 of slab and a bit of "just in case" room.

I have 4030mm which is 70mm short of full lift height this would allow a 110 with rack and a good working height for a 6' grease monkey Floor thickness of minimum 4" and maintain at least 6" from any seam or edge to bolt holes

I'd love to get something like this .... even better would be belly lift jacks built into the ramps (which I've seen on some 4posters).

Four 4 Post Hoist in Orange, NSW | eBay

I can get my cars with no ground clearance onto 4posters (you couldn't get htem onto a 2poster as the arms wouldn't fit underneath)... and you don't need to worry about slabs 'cos they are supported from the corners.

for roof height ... why don't you stand on the roof rack of your highest 4wd and see if your head hits the roof ..... if it does so will the cars roof before your at "standing" height beneath the car.

That hoist looks to me like it has spent a fair amount of its time either in the open, or under a carport, where the rain can blow in.

A four poster wood be great to compliment my two poster, but being a retired spanner and having worked with both, if I could only have one hoist it would be a two poster.

As for lowered cars. When my son needs to put his on my two poster we have some blocks of wood which we drive the car onto.

Minus the distance from the chassis to the floor.
You don't need to lift the vehicle 6 foot to stand a 6 foot person under it as the chassis (or floor in the case of a car) is already of the ground before you start. You need to lift a sports car a foot higher than the average 4x4 before you can stand under it, and you can stand under a mining truck without lifting it at all.

I'm still trying get my head around that LOL... I get what you mean though with 4post ... I'm thinking my tired old cars that don't run... they can be rolled onto a 4poster ... dunno how you'd get them onto a two poster given you can't even get a jack under the mongrel things if they don't run ... Hey a challenge in life is supposed to be good for you

The first house I rented had a pit in the back yard, handy,
I suppose in those days cars had a 101 grease nipples.
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Dunno why a 2 post hoist is such a problem, you can now get clear floor hoists with asymmetric arms, you only need 80mm to get the pads under the vehicle. (If you haven't got 80mm I fail to see how you'd get it up on a 4 poster!) Example:
