    LUG WRENCH TORQUE MULTIPLIER

I had two of the wheel bolts damaged by the air-wrench used at the wheel shop. They used a large air-wench because the nuts wouldn't loosen-up neither with the normal air-wrench nor with the long handle.

I am considering buying a wrench torque multiplier like this one

what do you think? any other alternative

I've come across these while searching for a torque wrench to tighten hub nuts and i think its a bit overkill for a wheel nut on a passenger vehicle plus you still need a torque wrench to tighten up to correct spec.

Whats wrong with a breaker bar and decent socket.

it didn't do the job with a nut that hasn't been loosened for more than a year.

    not something you require.

with the proper tools and good quality sockets I routinely go wheel nuts upto 600nm on heavy vehicles. the break off torque can exceed 2100nm

if the nuts are so tight that your damaging them with an impact driver all the torque multiplier is going to do is allow you to "smear" the corners off of the wheel nuts and score up your ally.
