well i cheaped out and bought a $175 61.5cc 18" "Perla Barb" off ebay
why ? i couldn't justify the cost of a good quality saw at the moment and this unit uses the same bar and chains as the husky did.
how did it go?
comes with a carry case, spare spark plug and air filter, chain, bar, oil mix bottle and some c grade safety gear for the princely some of $175 landed at your door.
took fifteen minutes to put it all together as per the easy to follow directions.
oiled up and fueled up, primed it and three light pulls on the cord and it was howling like a good 2 stroke should...
cut up some 15" diameter logs i had laying around and stopped the saw.
hmmmm blue oil running down side of the crankcase.....
on closer inspection i found the chain oil reservoir wasn't up to the job
dam
sent off an email to the seller and next morning i had an email back with a free post label to send the power head back
played that game and two days later a new power head landed on my door step
played the assembly game again and fired it up and did a little bit of work with it and it came up well.
next day i did about an hours work with it including about 5 mtrs of slabbing cuts on a silky oak log i had laying around..
gotta say, it's one hell of a unit for the money honey...
and the backup from the seller was superb
