    Lifestyle Camper Trailers

Has anyone had any experience with the Lifestyle camper trailers, I have had a look at a Lifestyle Extenda off-road camper and they seem pretty good. But was wondering if anyone had any hands on experience.

    Thanks

    Hey chunk,

These are a real popular camper, and good value from all accounts.
There is heaps of pics and info on the Myswag forum about Lifestyle Campers. The extenda is getting popular too with the walkway at the bed end. They have some good suspension options too.

If you have a look on you tube and search for vehicle componants, they tested their off road hitch and suspension on a Lifestyle up Cape York.

I dont own one mate but just thought I would give you something to look at.

We have 3 in our club and they are very well made. No complaints from the owners and none to my knowledge have been returned for warranty work. Although other brands have been returned for repair and some of these have cost more than twice that of the Lifestyle

Some non-owners and other companies make out they are bad because rumour has it part is made at a prison. This doesn't bother me though.

If I had the funds I would have bought one however I went second hand.

Plenty of research and you should make the correct choice.

    Hey mate,

I have owned one for 3 years. An Explorer with a couple of extras. My brother also have one.

I have found it really good with some great ideas but also there are some issues as well. Occassionally the canvas will get caught in between the "hinge" and the pole which nicks the canvas, I just rub some silicone on the holes to stop the canvas fraying. The seal tape on the tropical roof tends to fall off eventually, not really a major. The tailgate on mine warped but that would be more my fault as a kept a 15kg stretcher on it whilst underway.

It has lived outside in the weather(Western Qld sun) for majority of its life and the tarp is just starting to get a bit stiff.

I would buy one again but I wouldn't bother with the kitchen, I would install a "Drifta" kitchen. I would get the longer drawbar option and maybe a couple of other things. For a full gal trailer I dont think you would get one for a much better price.

Lifestyle's warranty has been second to none. My brother took his in to get some warranty work done on the door flyscreen and John (Lifestyle) wasn't happy with just doing that, he replaced the whole tent.

I had a couple of quality issues, I ordered a blue one but got moroon, the wheel bearings were loose and the hitch was only held on by one loose bolt. Only found out after a 500km trip from the factory. Neither of that is here or there really. Partly my fault for rushing them I suppose.

I have just sold it this week actually, I have upgraded to a caravan as my wife and I and the two kids (5 and 3) are heading off for a two year working holiday around OZ. The wife wasn't quite prepared to do it in a soft floor camper and just after I had set it up to carry the boat and motor, had to sell that too LOL.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers

    Kieren
