    off road hitch

have had a bit of a look around and came across the hitchmaster DO35 which looks the goods and looks a lot easier to use than the treg or AT35

    50mm ball coupling
-Pros: are cheap and able to hook onto most vehicle, been everywhere, never had a problem with angles or unhitching.
-Cons: doesnt have the sex appeal of expensive hitch or a pintel!

Saw one of these on a Tvan at the Greendale gathering. Very good unit and very easy to hitch up to as lining it up is not as critical as the Treg or Orac (which I have on mine). I thought it was a good bit of gear although I think they are about $250 or so to buy.... pretty exy

I have both my Treg on camper and 50mm ball type on Seedoo.

I have not seen the one stated above but I can 100% recommend the treg for total security and strength.

The ball type is good but for off road and absolute dependability, go Treg.

As a side note, the treg hitch is perfect excuse for you not to lend the trailer/camper to others as very few people have a hitch and of course you need yours!!!!

    Hi Weeds

I have on on my camper trailer and have had no issues at all with it, in fact its been really easy to connect. Its one of them things that just work

If you are not in a hurry and if you are at the Gold Coast Easter weekend come and have a look at my DO35

I have had if off road a few times with no dramas

VC components look good but are very $$. The hitchmaster VC was of interest to me but the cost is only for a company to consider

Having used tow balls and pintle hooks on and off road both of these are fine in easy conditions, but as it gets tougher the pintle wins but it is jerky and noisy.

As they recommend lubrication cleaning the coupling after a dusty trip would be a required maintenance.

I've got the D035 on my camper. Great bit of gear. HEAPS of articulation if you're going off road any any serious way. Easy to hook up, and absolutely NO clunks or noises from the unit when towing. Good stuff.

I have one of these fitted to my Camper trailer. An absolute doddle to hook up and no messing trying to align holes for pins. If you want to have a look you could pop over to my place.
