A solar panel for extended stays would probably be the only other thing, unless your using a generator for this.

My brother works for a security company that has a policy of replacing its UPS power supply batteries after they have been used a couple of times. He has acquired one of these batteries which he given to me. It is 100ah.
I am going to put this into a battery box and use it as a portable battery. When connected to the vehicle I will run cables from the deep cycle I already have fitted (Super Charge Allrounder 105Ah) so that when running both batteries are being charged - likewise for powering the fridge etc power would come from both batteries.
Does anyone feel that there might be a better arrangement - I do not have a battery controller as the deep cycle has its own 12v alternator separate from the vehicles main 24v systems (2 alternators on the engine).
Thanks
Garry

watch your max charge voltage and rate as well as the discharge voltage and rate..
keep those inside spec and you should be apples.
the reason why they get discarded after a few "uses" is that driving the inverter in the UPS to keep everything going can exceed the rated discharge rate of the battery.
