    100% aussie built ebay

Hired a great hard floor camper from Barnsdale from Action Off road campers it was outstanding for a run with the kids into Wonangatta great value too even for longer term trips I think.

The trailer was great, thought of grabbing one but the 30K scared me off a bit. e-bay looked too cheap to be true and major questions if it might survivie an off road trip. For about 5k and my 70y.o parents wanting to join the grey nomads traveling north I bit the bullet and brought one from Pro-camping trailer ( mars camper or A&S powersellers) The trailer looks fine. The price looks fine. The advertising it was 100% aussie built sold it and it is down stairs. VIN number was a giveaway it is fully imported I am not against imports- we drive one right. Department of transport in Canberra was able to confirm it was fully imported. Consumer affairs Vic are having a look at it. Not a bad trailer or tent, not a bad price just very questionable claims about the country of manufacture.

A mate went to the caravan & camping show, then started to research the camper trailers on-line. One of the H/Duty $30K "Aussie Built" units was available from China - same name, @$6,500 with a minimum order of 3. The Chinese ads used the same photos as the aussie supplier.

    2 options here (1) they're a ripp-off copy or (2) they're designed here and manufactured O/S.

He had a look at one of the "cheap" imported hardfloor campers available locally, and reported poor quality welds, mainly just spot welding, even on the suspension. He "punched" the bottom of the floor on one and the welds broke and the floor lifted up.

Pro-camping trailer ( mars camper or A&S powersellers)

Rusting-in a few week It is a ebay soft floor trailer camper from Pro-camping trailer ( mars camper or A&S powersellers) It is going back to them the hard way via the courts. It has rust coming out all over after a few weeks outside only. Fully galvanised over rusty unprepared metal is my and the next door neighbour (a retired engineer with expertise in galvanising.

You do get what you pay for. A hard floor version from another ebay seller has got from Melbourne to Darwin with no issues and the 70 year olds towing it are raving about the quick set up and pull down time.

I will keep the hard floor and give it a few off road tests assuming I the grey nomads bring it back as they are having too much fun with it.

Just found your trailer on ebay, it says "100% built by Aussie". Does that mean there is a Chinese camping goods company called "Aussie"? Or did Sun Yoo Ching change his name by deed poll? After that it says "assembled in Australia". This slight misdirection may be what they do to fool the customers. I'd say they were very careful NOT to say "made in Australia".

hard floor is from m2cptyltd. They assured me it is 100% imported it is still of with the grey nomads- aka MUM and DAD . they are loving it and with any luck I might even see it again in a few months, they are well into thier 70s and say they have set up and pull down down to about 5 minutes for almost everything. The owner of m2cptyltd is ex army (chinese) and a very helpful chap.

Many of the ebay sellers are selling excatly the same trailers hard and softfloor. The gents at MARS/Pro-camping trailers are not recommended MARS/Pro-camping trailers softfloor camper has lots more rust showing now. when they get it back it might be even worse. Consumer affairs Vic is looking at it for me. VCAT would be used except the staff and Consumer affairs Vic stated that they felt they would be able to fix this- Get a refund for me

    Grey nomads returned

Mum and dad AKA the Grey Nomads brought my hard floor hard floor trailer back (from m2cptyltd.) It made it to Darwin and about with no problems reported except hitch hikers- mouse plague in central Oz! At least one ended up in thier car as well.

Still waiting on Consumer affairs Vic to sort out my issue with the softfloor from mars campers. Little more rust showing on it.

Now I have mine back I get to try it myself soon. The nomads had so much fun they have threatened to take it way again soon.
