    Desert Edge Camper Trailers

Anyone know anything about these? They are made by the same crowd who make Quintrex boats. They apparently have been making trailers for quite a while.
There was an article in one of the mags (don't remember which one) which gave the hard floor a very good rap. at about $31k with all the fruit they seem to be pretty good value for a hard floor. www.desertedgetrailers.com.au

Looking for opinions before I drive to Mowell to have a look, they are the only Vic distributors at this stage.

The only thing I don't like the look of is the rubber torsion bar suspension. Seen more than one of these chewed out and useless after a run over some bad corregations...

Thanks Tank but we already have a soft floor and want to get a hardfloor this time around. there are just the 2 of us these days and figure a hardfloor will be easier esp if I want to go fishing for a w/e on my own.
I haven;t found another hardfloor with the features of the Desert Edge at that price unless its one of the Chinese imports which I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

    Wardy,

I had a look at one of these in Geelong recently. Tent section was OzTrail (imported from China) and the camper bows were suspect for two reasons - 1) there was rust on the galvanised bolts on the bows and 2) the bows had brackets welded onto the bends for support. Good bows don't need support welding.

Double check with the model that you are looking at as I think the one I checked out was not a hard floor model.

    Cheers,

    Franz
