If its a recent Ibis aircon the EU20i Honda will run it.

If its an older unit without the mod kit it wont run it. I have an Ibis and a Honda EU20i and it runs the aircon fine. I have only run it to test the system no long term.

am looking at bolting one to the rear bar so size is not a real issue,, just $$ LOL!!

Are you around Inc,,?? lots of people saying no PC damage from newer old style generators

I didn't try to run anything else so I don't know. I have heard the aircon dose run the EU20i to its limit.

Next time I am at the van I try it. I do need to give the geny a run.

So you've got the air-conditioned comfort, now you just have to work out how to run the computer and get internet with decent pings...

    Hi Pete,

If you can afford the petrol to run a van airconditioning unit powered from a small gene then you have plenty of money to burn.

As a test, I once ran our vans aircond unit with a Honda 20ui gene full of petrol and apart from running flat out and making a lot of noise the petrol only lasted about 45 to 50 odd minutes or so from memory, and it clicked out if I turned anything else on.

You can always run two 20ui's in line through a special Honda connector cable and they will give you, from memory, about 3.6 kilowatts which will allow you to run your aircon and other appliances. Two 20ui's are in general pyshically smaller and easier to store than one 3 kilowatt silent run generator. But again the petrol bill would be massive and you would need to carry heaps of it to keep them going. No matter what anyone tells you a small silent run gene when running flat out is not silent, they make a real racket and if bush camping then it will drive you crazy eventually and have any one parked within a couple of hundred meters wanting to kill you sooner then later

If your free camping and must have aircond for some reason then you more then likely will end up doing what many grey nomads do and that is fit a house hold aircond unit on your draw bar and plumb it in, apparently the Fujitsu or Mitsubishi units are very good and put up with the bouncing around when fitted to a van's draw bar. The house hold ones are far more efficient then a van unit, very quiet and cheap to buy and install and most will run off of a 1 kilowatt gene doing it easy.

Van designed aircond units are no good for free camping but fine for van parks where there is plenty of power.

The other thing you can do is what many people who do free camping do and that is buy a couple of really good quiet low power fans and just circulate the air around the van which works for us even on hot 40 degree days. If your interested in the best fans available for this application then PM me and I will give you a link to where you can buy them in the US for quite cheap.

    cheers,
    Terry

    Pedro.

    Long story short ....

For this application/duty, you need the EU30is.

If you want more ... PM me.

I sell these for a living.
