Have a look through the United States Post Office web site. That is not a big parcel.
Who quoted? Rip-off FedEx?
Hello all, I'm wanting to purchase a heater for my camper from The States, but freight is a killer ($200+ for a $300 item) it's about 18"x13"x10" and weighs around 10Kg.
I seem to remember a couple of forum members that deal with the USA for business, and wondered if there was any possibility of them throwing one in with their shipment?
I would obviously pay for the priviledge.
Cheers,
Fraser

I used your dimensions and weight of 25lbs. Priority Mail International US$133.55, Express Mail International US$177.
The seller needs speaking to sternly. It is no difference to him whether delivery is in the next mid-west village or Ougadougou if he has been paid. He has to take it to a FedEx office or a post office. So what. Does he want the business?
My experiences with the US post office have been noteworthy. They work out what is the best method and price, find the right packaging, and help you pack it, right there on the counter.

Hi Fraser,
I know at least 3 people in the same boat as yourself... myself one of them! Always looking for a cheaper option so I can buy more toys!!!
I have used USPS and recommend them too, however it doesn't matter which way you look at it, stuff from either the US or UK has large freight charges. There must be someone regularly importing stuff around here, but what we also need is hands in the states and the UK with both space to store and ability (& desire) to fill the container. As soon as you add any costs for that in, the whole excercise becomes pretty expensive.
If anyone does have boxes coming over regularly, I also want to bring over some P38 Rangie accessories and old Porsche repro parts from US.
Hoo-Roo, Dave.
