now THATS a shed!!![]()
This trailer started as an Ex Army Workshop chassis which had been modified prior to my purchase. The rusty old Series rear cross member has been removed and is being replaced with a new one made from RHS. Then the Series 111 tub will be reattached, a rollcage (removed from my Gunbuggy) fitted and my roof top tent put on top of that. Various things will be added as the build progresses, including water tank, drawers etc in a similar manner to the fitout in my Defender.
Anyway, here's a few pics.

I thought I should update what's happening with my trailer. It's a slow old build, but things are starting to progress.
Front mount for tub
Tabs for tub and tailgate hinges which were cut from old cross member
Brackets for stabilizer legs
And legs
Tub trial fit
I had these laying around, so why not.
I want to mount a spare wheel on the front, so a bit of strengthening was required to share the load. I've used 16mm form ply for the front.
I'm using the discarded rear door wheel mount from my Defender for the spare.
After a clean up, a coat of etch primer was applied
Then a good coat of chassis black
While cleaning the chassis up I found these numbers. The first is obviously its previous NSW chassis no for rego, but can anyone shed any light on what the 3 figure number may be. As can be seen it's just behind where the lunette bolts on.
The outside of the tub has been stripped of all paint as well now and there is a little work to do on that.

the design is neater than that above from Tamworth but I wonder about the weight
Numpty - it looks like you're off to a good start !![]()

Gee mate, you're getting there !
Careful it doesn't look so good you don't want to use it !
I like the D1 spare wheel carrier, i have been holding on to one for years for that same purpose and now i have a trailer to mount it to.

"556" is the chassis number from initial fabrication. The Army Rego Number matching that chassis number is "173-824", archived in this list:

Thx for the PM and a look over the photos of your progress on Wizbin. Same tyres.
Takes me back, the twins are 18 and on P plates now. When we went camping with Wizbin and Castrol they were about 5 or so and trying to learn how to ride bikes as I remember. The tub came from Haylock's wreckers in Kotara. I can't recall where the trailer (with water tank mtd) came from, it could've been Warwick Lord. The oval cross-section looking water tank had a few taps along the back for filling army canteens.
