I've played with the concept of a flat-bed trailer with slide/roll-on modules before: it is probably the best idea when it comes to modularity and role adaptability.

    Hi Vlad...

Might be to late but I have some trailer ideas that you could probably use.
I built this a few months back as an all purpose trailer and wanted the best of all worlds.
Some things I would do differently next time but overall it has been perfect for us.
A few more things need to be fitted like water tank, canoe racks and solar panel.

    Features:

7'x4' checker plate electric tilting floor, which has a 1200kg winch hidden inside one cupboard. Great for dumping rubbish quickly and with it tilted makes it easier to load on a bike.
Also has a locking mechanism I made for when the floor is down, and when you press the button to lift, a solenoid unlocks and then activates the winch.

Roof top to keep things locked away which lifts up to fit a motorbike or larger items.
Canvas sides which slide on through sail track and clip on the trailer which is fully enclosed.
It will have a zip on tent soon which goes off to the side of the trailer.

Lockable storage all around the trailer including the front area which holds a generator and welder.

Unfortunately has L/Cruiser wheels and brakes which one day I will setup with LandRover.

The chassis is 100x50x3mm with 50x50 box tubing built up from this. All panels are composite aluminum sheeting and wrapped in vinyl screen printed and 2pac clear coated.
The rear of the trailer tappers upwards for off road use, and also the front and rear all angle inwards.

Our trailer i think is 6 foot or a bit longer maybe. it fits 2 bikes in but if you had to you could drop the front tailgate onto the drawbar for extra length.
It has fairly high sides so fits a lot in we have taken it camping a lot but never had a camper on top of it. it has a hand tipper which is simple but really easy especially when dropping something on the ground just tip and drive forward.

Come have a look at the green trailer and the concept can be eyeballed off of that.
    Hi Blknight.
Would be great if you could post a few pics of this trailer for us to see. Thinking about going down the same track.
    Regards

Thanks all I'd love to see pics etc of all these trailers.

flipper I love that trailer (not sure on your aesthetic taste in colour choice though! )

Would you mind telling me (PM if you prefer) what sort of ballpark $ it cost to get built?

Well the choice of colours were not mine as the wife is responsible for that one.
Some people love it and some people hate it, but it does grow on you after a while.
It cost me $850 to build from the ground up, as a few local business donated some materials.
My missus is a certified motor trimmer and seems to know everyone so things like the vinyl wrap, composite aluminium and running gear were kindly donated.
