G'day all.
We are on holidays here in "sunny" Maroochydore and my Tekonsha P3 brake controller has developed an intermittent fault. It keeps coming up with the message "short to battery..no brakes". It has only just started doing it and without the van connected. After a time out it returns to normal and removing the + wire off the circuit breaker also resets the fault. I have had a quick look at the wiring between the battery and controller and can not find any chaffing or damage. Could it be a fault in the circuit breaker? I have googled the issue and it seems it is a common fault. It has been pouring with rain lately and the D2a is out in it, could it be moisture?. Should I replace the circuit breaker? What else should I look at before taking it to an autoelec? Any help greatly appreciated.

My P3 occasionally comes up with an error (can't remember which one) but my remedy has been to just unplug the loom from the back of the unit - count to ten and plug it back it in which seems to reset it.. hasn't played up for a while now (but now that I have mentioned it.. I bet it will soon)
Cheers,

Evening all.
Well I think I found the problem today, the plug at the rear of the car was full and I mean FULL of water hence the shorting. Dried it out, soaked it in WD40 and cleaned the pins. Sealed it up with silicone sealant. See how it goes.
