Sorry I got no idea about the trailer question... but I want to go camping and exploring like that.....
I am curious to know if there are other trailers out there that have a drop down tailgate. I am considering modifying mine to make it more usable but I am worried about wrecking my trailer

Me too but they are bloody noisy on bitumen I can only imagine what they are like on dirt
Noisy? really? wow. Never thought about that. HELL I have a series land rover, that trailer would have to be ONE noisy beast to be heard over the car!
Any noise you are getting from the trailer will be the tyres.
I'm the same as Debruiser though as far as not noticing - I tow my Sankey trailer behind my 101, so if the trailer is making a noise, I won't here it anyway...
For that matter I can't see it most of the time, so when I find it still there when I pull up, it is a relief...
But seriously, get some road tyres for it - does it have bar treads or similar at the moment? A light truck tyre would fit the bill I would think?
Maybe we need Mick_marsh to chime in, he is the best trailer expert I know.

You don't know many people then Gav.
That No.5 might be one of the aluminium No.5's usually attributed to the RAAF.
I'll ask Ian if I can get some photo's of his for comparison.
They were made slightly smaller so they didn't foul when being loaded into a Caribu.
If you don't want to modify your tub you can always get a crap tub and butcher that.
My no.5 trailer is quite different to BTM one I have never seen one like his so I thought I would put it out there for comment.
Cheers......Brian
