Hey Guys, After enduring both legs being operated on and 7 months off work I have started work on my easier to manage camper, the previous camper was great if you wanted to sleep 6 but too hard on my own to erect, I have bought a tray back Triple M brand off a dual cab ute and used the existing outriggers to attach to 100 x 50 3.5mm steel RHS frame, 6 additional steel plates were welded and bolted using nyloc nuts on all bolts, fully mig welded and painted in charcoal grey hammertone, drawbar is 75 x50 3.5mm and to that will be attached an offroad coupling, 1 tonne axle, 1000kg springs, tray will have a steel frame fabricated to take my rooftop tent, 2 awnings 1 either side, 60 litre water tank under floor, lockable cabinet with slide out kitchen, 4 jerry can holders, 1 gas bottle holder, small 850w generator, 120 watt solar panel and reg charging batt in toolbox on drawbar, fully waterproof led rearlights and 2 9100 lms floodlights to be mounted on top, have fitted alloy 16" rims. pictures show finished to towable and registerable state minus coupling, I'll put up some more as the fitout continues, as a viable camper project ute trays are a good alternative and can be bought cheaply, mine was $182 from flea bay
