Kimberley Kamper Kitchen Slide
Hi All,
We had a look at a 2nd hand Kimberley Kamper while up this coast this week. The kitchen was quite difficult to slide out, it took quite a continuous force. Its the only one we have looked at so I don't have a comparison. Any comments from the brains-trust?
Cheers

My Camp'o'matic has nylon runners so that it is totally reliable. Too make it easier you can spray the runners with dry lube.
I think one of the reasons to use runners rather than drawer bearings is so that if you forget to lock it, it doesn't fall out from road camber.
I know a bloke who had a very expensive camper trailer who forgot to lock the kitchen which had drawer bearings. it didn't like hitting the corner post of the fence at the camping ground entrance much.

KK Kitchen slides
I have a 2nd Hand KK
the Kitchen slide was very hard
I found there was a build up of dust etc on and around the slide
pull it out as far as you can try and clean the runner surface
I found the plastic slides were too tight fitting
using a orbital sander I narrowed them and rounded the corners
then gave it a good spray of silicone
cured problem
cheers
Ian
PS do not forget to lock it

Thanks Back In. We couldn't do a reasonable deal on a 2nd hand unit so we bought new. Paid an extra few $k but got a lot more for our money. Very happy but haven't been into the rough stuff yet.
Did you buy yours recently?

K Kamper
Hi
bought mine a 2007 Limited Edition 3 years ago Sept 11
had not been far, about 1/2 the new price.
since then put a swing away on the back, 300mm draw bar extension, and several extra boxes.
had to take weight off the ball a/c only allowed 150kgs on the Disco1
On our trip around NT and WA in 2012 18,000kms, inc a few 1000kms of dirt, 3.4m boat, motor etc etc average better than 10lt/100kms and a 2lt of gas when I could get it.
been happy with so far
cheers
Ian
