    Insuring a Camper Trailer….easy?

HI guys, insurance question. When we purchased our camper trailer a year ago we insured it with GIO as I think these were to only guys to do it.??? They have sent us a letter reminding that the policy expire/renews on date xxxxxx, but in this case they will not renew as the 'trailer falls outside our acceptable insurance underwriting criteria'.

Not sure what this means literally, but we can call to determine. Interested though if anyone else has had trouble finding insurers for camper trailers, and what the hurdles have been. Am I trying to insure as the wrong thing, etc etc.

    Any relevant info appreciated.

    cheers
    Nick

(First hand experience not " I heard from someone who knows someone")
A good mate is insured with CIL and when it got to put a claim in, he feels he has been given the run around and it has turned into an epic saga which has been going on way too long(since last year). He has had to always chase them up, as they are very lax in contacting him. The experience has left him with a very sour taste in his mouth and he is still without a van. To me they seem a little exxy for the cover they provide.
I'm sure like any insurance company people have had both good and bad experiences with a particular company, but it is enough for me to choose to cancel my policy with them.
