While My trailer is a little differnt (using a SWB SIII tub) I toyed with the idea of building a chassis and in the end came accross a suzuki sierra chassis which I cut down the middle added a drawbar (not finished) and then welded a sIII rear crossmember to the back, the rear of the tub mounts to the cross member, and the front which is yet to be mounted will bolt onto some RHS that is welded to the chassis.

this allowed me to use sierra lifter leafs and shocks all in sierra factory location (happened to line up perfect with the wheel arch for me!) this leaves me the ability to mount the sierra fuel tank still and convert it for diesel in place of extra jerry cans.

the biggest cost for my trailer was the Axel with LR hubs though. mine is unbreaked and is not intended to ever go over 750KG's but I will fit brakes once the budget allows.

for fitting a 110 ute Tub a sierra chassis may be a bit short at the rear end, but they are light as anything strong, already have the spring mounts and shock mounts and where the raiser rear sections of the chassis drop down allow the tub to be mounted the same height as the car yet the drawbar down at the same height as your towbar without any issues.

link to my build, i have made little to 0 more progress on it since my last post in the thread, may not be relevant to you at all but if it helps to see what others have done then ive helped in some way
