Unusual trailer - suitable for mounting a 130 tub?

Just stumbled across this trailer on Gumtree.

Wondering if it might be suitable to mount a 130 Dual cab tub onto?

What do you think? What additional steel would be needed to provide a suitable frame to mount the tub?

Can anyone explain the features of it ... looks like its got brakes of some sort, what is that black boot behind the hitch? What is the red button? etc. I assume its got torsion suspension?

I'm no trailer expert, and this is a bit unusual ... but I like that its a galvanised rolling chassis.

It looks to me the track width might be too narrow. It does not look like a 50mm ball hitch either. You should confirm that.
I would expect more steel would be required.

Get dimensions then have another think

Thanks - have sent a message asking for dimensions. Good spotting on the hitch. I wonder what sort it is?

I think the hitch maybe 50mm but is the American design, Not sure if it complies here in Oz. The rubber boot behind the hitch appears to be a cover/boot over the inertia brake system. It only has 4 stud wheels so I would confirm its weight and load figures as well.

Looks a little low to the ground

Keep in mind trailers load space area.....you need to have at least as much what's behind the axle in front of the axle.....not sure it's draw bar is long enough.

    Towe 0609,
Fairly sure that that trailer was used to bring an industrial compressor or similar into the county. I purchased a couple a few years ago to make up some fire/ cartage trailers. The ones I had were un-braked. I was advised at the time that the tires were not road legal in Australia, US trailer only or something, 14inch I think. Independent Al-Co torsion rubber suspension. 50mm ball hitch. The width between wheels was too small to fit a 1000ltr ICB tank thing on, 950mm? I got around this by flipping the wheels. It just fit then. On the ones I had the wheel studs screwed through the wheels into the hubs, more like bolts. for comparison I payed $200 or $220 each for them. I'll see if I can find some Photo's
    Cheers Phil

    more info

The ones I had had toothed pivot things on the drawbar, to change to hitch height,

Also included in the photo is one of the little monkeys who delivered some rather ordinary toast to me in bed yesterday for fathers day.

The hitch was also an Al-co.

The chassis from one of those ex-army kitchens would be ideal for a 130 single cab tub as would a Haulmark PT1 1.2 chassis.

There was one of the kitchen ones at a swap meet in the last year or so. Mind is blank where I saw it.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I mounted my 130 tub on a number 5 army chassis and worked a treat. I must do the build thread for it one day.
